The past week or so the big news in the United States has been the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Everyday, this oil rig spill is pumping thousands and thousands of gallons of oil into the ocean. The attempts to fix the oil spill have not been working. Also, there has been a concern as to how they are going to stop this since all of the attempts have not been working.
I have no idea how they are going to fix this problem. Everything that they are trying isn't working. However, they need to do something quick. All of the ocean organisms, plants, etc. are dying because of this oil. The longer that the oil continues to spill, the more of a problem it is going to become. More animals are going to die, and it's going to be an even bigger mess than what it is now. I feel that more people should be involved in this clean up process so that they have more ideas of how to fix this problem so that it can be solved quickly and thoroughly.

I agree about this. They are spending too much time worrying about which project will work better instead of working quickly to close it. They should close it by any means necessary because it is causeing serious damage to the enviornment to the Gulf. These scientists need to just quit all of their talking or thinking slowly they need to hurry up and close the hole. They said they will make a decision in the next two days. This is unacceptable because it will take two days of oil spilling into the Gulf. They need to hurry up soon.
ReplyDeleteI agree that we need to figure something out, quick. I belive that since this blog was published they've brought up about 2 more ideas of how to keep the oil from spreading. More people really should be involved with this. All I've heard, so far, is that there are people from BP trying to think of solutions, and not many people outside of that organization are doing anything.
ReplyDeleteI would think that after 3 weeks some "professional" oil pumpers could work out a way to stop the oil from destrying the ocean and tourist areas. I heard that they designed a new "plug" for the leak that should help if it works. This is going to cost a lot though. It's going to be expensive to clean up, costly to repair, and the southern states that depend on tourists are going to suffer because no one wants to swim in oil... that's kind of gross.
ReplyDeleteI agree because this affect everyone not just one group of people so everyone should help. We can't just wait around for something to happen. We need to take action now. If we don't then we will certainly be at a huge loss. I mean come on we have people to come up with a plan, people that we pay to find a solution to stop it, don't we? We should have a solution by now! We need to try something or all it's going to do is get worse. So why not try?
