April 18th Blog

This past few months, the entire world has been experiencing some pretty weird natural disasters. It seems that a week cannot go by without a huge 7.0 magnitude earthquake, strong wind storm, landslide, tsunami, and such. This has been bringing up the question of "Is the world coming to an end?", and all different types of questions like this. I don't believe that these events have anything to do with the end of the world.

Just like we talked about it class, the earth is constantly changing and shifting. I'll admit that it is pretty weird that there have been so many earthquakes, and not just tiny ones. But, it is normal for earthquakes to occur because the earth is constantly moving, shifting, and changing, so things like this are bound to happen. However, I think that this may be a sign that we should to more to take care of our earth and have ways and plans for how to handle situations like this. When the first big earthquake in Haiti took place this year, everyone was shocked and didn't know how to handle the situation. I think that since earthquakes are common, and they have been occurring in more populated areas, we should come up with a earthquake-relief plan so we can help in some way, and show that we as a nation are there for support. And, I think that in return other countries do the same.
